Avraham’s family lived in Surányka (Šurianky). After the town was transferred from Slovakia to Hungary, he assisted refugees who strived to arrive in Budapest.
In May 1944 Avraham was enlisted in a forced labor unit, deserted with the help of documents he was given and joined the underground activities. He helped in the rescue of members of the movement from the forced labor camps and went on various missions. In November 1944 Avraham joined the bunker on Hungary Boulevard. The bunker was discovered and Andi and his friends were incarcerated in the prison on Margit Boulevard. He was liberated in a daring operation of the Zionist Youth underground. After the liberation Avraham was active in the framework of the B’riha and the manager of a children’s house in Budapest. Avraham made aliya in 1948 with the recruitment aliya, served in the 4th battalion of the Palmah and took part in various operations. When he was discharged in 1950, he joined Kibbutz Kfar Hahoresh. He left the kibbutz and worked in “Mekorot” as an electrical engineer. He was retired and lived in the Protea pensioners’ village.
